Hotel Sonnenberg

Set high above the Puster Valley, Hotel Sonnenberg welcomes guests with sweeping views of the Dolomites from the moment they arrive. Family-run for around 50 years, the hotel combines genuine hospitality with a clear ambition to evolve its offer and architecture—captured in the promise “Panorama Dolomites Wellbeing”.
A key milestone in this development was the new extension completed in 2025. It expands the resort with a clearly structured adults-only wellbeing area featuring an infinity pool, modern saunas and elegant relaxation zones. At the same time, new suite types were created—high-end, filled with natural light, defined by natural materials and well-considered layouts that balance privacy with panoramic views.
The project also sharpened the hotel’s architectural identity: a new façade design translates alpine lines into a contemporary expression—distinctive, welcoming and confident. The result is a cohesive ensemble that respects tradition while decisively moving it forward.
PLANTEAM was responsible for the architecture and visualizations as well as architectural and technical site management. Structural design and structural site supervision were also delivered by PLANTEAM.
