Rockfall Protection Tunnel Campodazzo

Rockfall Protection Tunnel Campodazzo: Cutting-edge safety solutions for complex geological challenges

Our Rockfall Protection Tunnel project on the SS12 at Campodazzo is an outstanding example of engineering excellence in challenging geological environments. The 440-meter-long tunnel was projected to protect the road from massive rockfalls, absorbing impact energies up to 11,000 kJ. With walls made of high-strength reinforced concrete, the structure is designed for maximum stability and safety.

In a region characterized by steep rock faces and constant erosion hazards, we employed state-of-the-art stabilization techniques, including barriers, netting systems, and soil reinforcements. The construction work was carried out under difficult conditions, with limited space for site logistics and continuous traffic flow of over 14,000 vehicles per day.

Our engineers deployed innovative monitoring systems to track the stability of the surrounding rocks in real-time. The project showcases how careful planning and technical expertise come together to create lasting safety solutions even in high-risk areas. The experience gained at Campodazzo forms the foundation for future projects, where safety and efficiency are paramount.
